About us

Our history

 “In 1988, during the tenure of Professor Krikkiet Pipatsaridham as the Rector of Thammasat University, a proposal to establish the Faculty of Engineering was submitted as part of the 6th Educational Development Plan. The proposal was approved by the University Council on August 26, 1988, and was subsequently submitted to the Ministry of University Affairs for consideration on September 8, 1988. Meanwhile, on September 13, 1988, the Cabinet held a meeting to discuss the establishment of regional universities. The Cabinet approved the upgrade of several colleges in various provinces to university status and resolved to instruct the Ministry of University Affairs to promptly consider and propose the establishment of the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Medicine at Thammasat University to the Cabinet for urgent consideration.”
