Center of Excellence in Electromagnetic Energy Utilization in Engineering (CEEE)

Head of the Center : Prof.Dr.Phadungsak Rattanadecho

The center focuses on multidisciplinary and fully integrated research. This includes basic research through advanced mathematical modeling and numerical computation methods developed by the center itself. This work is academically oriented and aims to produce high-quality outputs that contribute new knowledge, which can be published in international journals with high Impact Factors and H-Index. In terms of applied research, the knowledge gained from basic research is extended to develop technologies that align with the needs of the country. The outcomes at this stage are typically in the form of experimental data and industrial research, where the acquired knowledge is further developed into processes suitable for continuous development in the form of pilot scale and commercial scale. This is the final stage of the comprehensive research process. In this stage, researchers have created prototype machines at both pilot scale and commercial scale that are patentable and can be practically used. The center also serves as a hub for researchers in the fields of microwave technology for industrial applications and medical engineering within the country. It is a research center with strong research capabilities.

Center of Excellence in Creative Engineering Design and Development

The main objective of the center is to focus on creating innovations to solve the country's major problems through creative engineering design and development (Creative Engineering Design & Development, CED2). This involves integrating knowledge from various disciplines, with a particular emphasis on developing health-related innovations for underprivileged individuals in Thailand. The goal is to develop innovations that can be practically applied, generating value both commercially and in terms of public welfare. Initially, the focus will be on designing and developing health innovations for patients, people with disabilities, and the elderly. Additionally, the center aims to create pathways to commercialize these innovations, generating revenue that can be reinvested into research, thus creating a sustainable research cycle.

Center of Excellence in Environmental Catalysis and Adsorption

Head of the Center : Prof.Dr.Nurak Grisdanurak

 

The center aims to achieve excellence in research on catalysts and adsorbents across the following areas:
1. **Activated Carbon**: With a large surface area and costeffectiveness, activated carbon can be commercially developed and utilized. The focus will be on developing it as a mercury vapor adsorbent and enhancing its efficiency through various surface modification techniques.
2. **Carbon Nanotubes**: Although carbon nanotubes have a large surface area, their high cost limits their applications. Therefore, the development will focus on their use in sensors.
3. **Catalysts**: The emphasis is on photocatalysts for the degradation of highly hazardous chemicals. This group includes materials such as TiO2, ZnO, Graphene, and CuS.
4. **Strong Reducing Agents**: These will be developed to react with or reduce the harmful effects of arsenic. This group includes NZVI (Nanoscale Zero-Valent Iron) and Modified NZVI.
5. **Specialized Supercapacitors**: The focus here is on energy storage, synthesized from agricultural materials such as biochar and green plants.
